I have always been fascinated by nature, sound and inner exploration. As a child I would watch the world around me and everything had that magical sense of wonder that we all experience naturally as children. I would imitate the sounds and movements of animals, the elements, other people and anything else that I experienced.
As I got older my love of sound and play stayed with me, evolving into a love of music and I started working as a singer performing all over the UK and Europe to crowds of up to 25,000 people at a time. Those were fun times!
Later I became a vocal coach and worked with a few well known celebrities. I set up a performance academy for children at the Royal Academy of Dance with a friend when I was 19 as a way of enhancing children’s self esteem and encouraging them to reach for their dreams. We brought in professionals from West End theatre productions to teach the children numbers from the musicals and had great success bringing many children who had previously been too shy to speak right out of their shells (so much so that they ended up taking lead singing roles in our annual performances)! It was another wonderful chapter in my life.
Then, after a few years working in television (I worked on set for SM:TV (motivating and managing the kids squad) CD:UK and Top of the Pops and also presented for Sky, The Disney Channel and NTL) I set up and ran Fame’scool. Supported by several well known celebrities we went into schools and led vocal and dance classes again, as a vehicle towards boosting self esteem in young people, opening doors and giving them opportunities to shine - showing them that anything is possible. Their favourite celebrities would come in and teach workshops in order to help them realise that we all have this power within us to achieve whatever it is that we set out to achieve. It made “success” more accessible to many youngsters and we even saw young offenders, truants and teenagers who were often perceived as “hard to reach” by the education system start to reach for the stars… but there was still something missing for me.
I've always had this driving passion for empowering children and young people and it stems from the desire to live in a world where there is harmony – where every child is empowered from conception and understands the true nature of who they are. I also believe that if we can hold onto, or regain the freedom of expression, playfulness and self belief that we have naturally as children, the world will be full of laughter and love. If every child grew up knowing without a doubt that they could create the life they want to and if they then took the responsibility and the opportunity to do this, listening only to their inner knowledge, can you imagine the kind of world we would live in?
When I became pregnant with my first child, my son I began a profound transformation from the inside out. In many ways it was a return to the state of being I had experienced as a child but it was also a period of huge growth. Natural and conscious parenting streamed into my every waking moment and I would find myself having flashes of inspiration during those night time breastfeeds that I had to act on. The experience of becoming a mother has inspired me to do what I do today - with every day I found myself coming more and more into harmony with my own true heartsong.
Every person that brings their life more into harmony… who explores and owns what is inside them... each person who shines as brightly as they were born to, has a direct impact on those around them and those people in turn have an impact on those around them… and on it goes… all around the world and back again.
My intention for my work is to help bring the world into harmony one person, one family at a time, assisting them in rediscovering that childhood sense of wonder about life and in singing the song of their soul - their "heartsong"...
